The Breaking TV Film Festival is excited to announce that acclaimed actress Portia Booroff will join this year's esteemed panel of judges. Portia brings a wealth of experience from both stage and screen, adding a distinguished voice to the festival's evaluation process.
Portia’s illustrious career spans a diverse range of performances across the West End and beyond. Her notable theatre credits include starring in productions such as The Price at Wyndham's Theatre, The Birthday Party and The Importance of Being Earnest at Harold Pinter Theatre, Noises Off at The Old Vic, and Six Characters in Search of an Author at Gielgud Theatre. She has also graced the stage in Deep Blue Sea and The Magistrate in both the West End and on tour, and performed in Jackie at Wyndham’s Theatre.
Portia's stage credits extend to other significant productions, including The Importance of Being Earnest at the Actor’s Church Covent Garden, Dead Lies on National and International tours, and Phèdre at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC. Her performances in Madness of King George, Copenhagen, Hamlet, and Uncle Vanya further highlight her versatile talent.
In film, Portia has appeared in several notable features, such as Paani Ch Madaani, Buoyancy, The Meeting, and Solitary. Her performance in Room 36 earned her a New York nomination for Best Actress, and she has also been featured in The Revenge of Billy The Kid, In His Shadow, and Night Junkies. Her impressive range extends to short films with credits including No More Mary, Café.io, I Just Wanted You To See, and September Moon, among many others.
On television, Portia has showcased her talent in a variety of roles across popular series such as Ghandi Mohan on Netflix, Disclaimer on Apple TV, Landscapers on Sky TV, and Avoidance on BBC. She has also appeared in Call The Midwife, Doctors, and Imposters on Netflix, and has made notable appearances in Eastenders, The Bill, and Minder.
